Spell check in word precious. Turn on or off automatic spelling and grammar checking. But do remember to run spell check. On the word menu click preferences spelling grammar.

To check spelling manually click review spelling grammar. To turn the word spelling checker on or off check or uncheck the boxes for check spelling as you type and mark grammar errors as you type. In the spelling grammar dialog box under spelling check or clear the check spelling as you type box.

Under grammar check or clear the check grammar as you type box. Click file options proofing clear the check spelling as you type box and click ok. Select options and open the proofing group.

To turn spell check back on repeat the process and select the check spelling as you type box. Open the file tab.
